The tournament will be held by Twitch streamer Castro 1021. A player who frequently streams  EA FC 26 content, and includes celebrities such as Brendan Hunt, Becky G as well as Nicky Jam in addition to Sudeikis and Noah. While it appears that other players with FUT 26 Coins will be competing in their own character, Jason Sudeikis is competing in the tournament as himself as Ted Lasso from the AppleTV + show with the identical name.

The last years World Video Game Hall of Fame inductees featured titles like Bejeweled, Centipede, King's Quest and Minecraft All of them were trailblazing games of their own. Although this year's winners will not be revealed until May 6. The 2021 candidates have elements that were integral to the advancement of the genres they represent.
